How to Get Married in Denmark as a Non-Danish Citizen: The German Perspective

Getting married in Denmark can be a bit of a challenge if you are not Danish citizen. However, with the help of a wedding bureau, it can be a lot easier. In this article, we will give you the German perspective on getting married in Denmark. We will describe the different steps that need to be taken and what paperwork that is required.

The first thing you need to do is to find a Wedding Bureau. This can be done by searching online or in the Yellow Pages. Once you have found a bureau, you will need to schedule an appointment. You will need to send copies your passports and birth certificates. But depending on you status, former marriage and a lot of other things, The Wedding Bureau knows exactly which paper they need from you, and they will then help you fill out the necessary paperwork.

We choosed the weddingplannerdenmark.com which had tons and tons of good reviews on booth Google and facebook, and got in touch with the owner, Fatih.

He was such a nice person to talk to, and he made it so easy for me to understand what he needed, to make our big day become a reality.

After the paperwork was complete, we came to Denmark on the date we arranged. we bought this package deal: https://www.weddingplannerdenmark.com/wedding-hotel/ upfront which had a great value, right after the ceremoni we went to the hotel which was included in this package. The hotel Fatih Booked for us, where a nice hotel, clean and with a nice room for us. Every morning at breakfast there was a huge variety of delicious food in the restaurant and that was included in the package as well.

As i remember it we needed to pay a deposit upfront, on the booking which i think is fair enough.

Finally, on our wedding day, we arrived at the copenhagen airport, and could easily take the metro train to central copenhagen it was not far, but of course i guess you can take a taxi if you dont want to travel with the metro. When we arrived at the town hall of copenhagen, everything was just as described by Fatih, and he had arranged the witnesses, which is mandatory. The city hall of Copenhagen was actually a very nice place, beautiful and quiet. after the ceremoni we, said “I do!” and officially we went to be married! Now i am his wife, and he is my husband. Such a fantastic feeling.

I would really recommend Wedding planner denmark, if you want to get married in copenhagen, or anywhere else in Denmark. because at the end of the day, its your big day! and it should be just as you dreamed it.
